Working for Energy Scoping Document Released
Thursday, 04 March 2010 07:31

The Department of Energy (‘DOE”) has approved a National Programme entitled, “Working for Energy” which has three major focus areas, namely the provision of sustainable energy solutions (supply side), demand side management interventions, and the creation of ‘new’, but sustainable job opportunities in South Africa.

The Department of Energy is partnering with the South African National Energy Research Institute ("SANERI") (due to be incorporated into the South African National Energy Development Institute (“SANEDI”), as of 1 April 2010, and who have been appointed as the Implementing Agent in terms of an MOU to assist the DOE in its implementation of the Working for Energy programme.

The Scoping Document below incorporates both the institutional arrangements and the specific focus area project implementation plans which detail the relative project descriptions, extent and scope of works to be undertaken through the Working for Energy programme.
