Climate Technology Initiative’s Private Financing Advisory Network (CTI PFAN) launched in Africa with the support of REEEP.
Wednesday, 09 September 2009 11:40

CTI PFAN is a programme recently launched in Sub-Saharan Africa to help project developers successfully structure clean and renewable energy projects and obtain private sector investment and financing. This is part of the Climate Technology Initiative’s Private Financing Advisory Network (CTI PFAN) which is already operating successfully in Latin America and Asia and is now expanding throughout Sub-Saharan Africa, including but not limited to countries such as Mozambique, Uganda and South Africa.

The activities are funded by the CTI countries (Australia, Austria, Canada, Finland, Germany, Japan, Korea, Norway, Sweden, UK & US), USAID, APP (Asia Pacific Partnership) and the Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP).

The programme is designed to support UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) objectives on technology transfer to mitigate climate change in association with key UN Institutions such as UNIDO, UNEP & UNDP. The work programme includes establishment of dedicated regional and in-country networks of consultants and investors, intensive project development for selected projects, organisation of project development workshops, connecting projects with investors and the showcasing of selected projects at the Africa Investor Forum (scheduled for April 2010)
