World Future Council Strategy Workshop; Power Kick for Africa
The World Future Council brings the interests of future generations to the centre of policy making. It’s up to 50 eminent members from around the globe have already successfully promoted change. The Council addresses challenges to our common future and provides decision-makers with effective policy solutions. In-depth research underpins advocacy work for international agreements, regional policy frameworks and national lawmaking and thus produces practical and tangible results
The workshop will be chaired by Hafsat Abiola, member of the World Future Council, Founder of the Kudirat Initiative for Democracy (KIND) in Nigeria and the consulting company China Africa Bridge (CAB). Representative of politics, economy and civil society from different African countries will gather to elaborate policies for a rapid uptake of renewable energy provision in Africa. This will be the 2nd convention of the African Renewable Energy Alliance [AREA] which was inaugurated at the WFC workshop in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in October 2009.
